VETERAN’S RECOGNITION COMMITTEE
Cordially invites you to a Memorial Day service honoring our veterans on Sunday, May 24th, following the Divine Liturgy at the Espas Memorial, corner of Elm and Russell Street directly across our church at Elm Park. Peter Leasca, Chairman of the committee states, "We will always place the memory of our veterans at our bosom and there to remain. Lets show our feelings by being there." Please pass the word around especially to the seniors who do not have e-mail, and attend this memorial.

MEMORIAL DAY TRISAGION SERVICE
As customary, Father Dean will be at the Orthodox Cross of the Cemetery on Monday, May 25th, Memorial Day at 10:00 am for trisagion services for our beloved family members. The Church office is closed on Monday, May 25th, Memorial Day.

SPECIAL EVENTS
The Annual Mother's Day Brunch has been rescheduled for Sunday, June 21st, as a Father's Day and Mother's Day Brunch. The Special Events committee will be taking reservations following Divine Liturgy. Anyone wishing to donate food for the brunch or help on the day of the event, please contact a member of the committee.

PHILOPTOCHOS NEWS
The Philoptochos Board meeting will take place Tuesday, May 27th at the Washburn House, 1183 Main Street, Worcester, MA at 6:30 pm. The end of the year Dinner meeting will take place Tuesday, June 2nd at Wachusett Country Club, 6:30 pm Cocktails, Dinner 7:00 pm.

PHILOPTOCHOS SCHOLARSHIPS
The applications for the following scholarships: Agamamnon Commatas Scholarship $500, Vasiliky Strates Moschos Scholarship $500, and two Ladies Philoptochos Scholarship $1,000 each, are now available in the Church Office. The Scholarship Awards will given to the recipients on Father's Day, June 21st.

STEWARDSHIP NEWS
Each of us has been blessed with unique gifts and talents. Stewardship is based on an individual's need to give, not on the Cathedral's need to receive.

FAMILY CENTER NEWS
We have applied and been approved for the building permits by the city. We are complete with the Architect's construction designs, and we are in the process of requesting RFPs from contractors. Everything is coming in place to have ground breaking in 2009. It's now up to us to make our pledge individually or in your family's name, to reach the goal we have set, $3,000,000 for us to start the Family Center this year. If you have not pledged yet, please do so now. And those who have pledged consider increasing your pledge. You can arrange for your pledge to be paid over the next 3 to 5 years, weekly, monthly, quarterly or bi-annually. Everyone's name will be posted on the Angel Board and increased to a higher level if you contribute more than you originally stated. Drop your pledge envelope off now and get your name on the Angel Board showing you helped make the Family Center legacy happen.

LITTLE ANGELS
The Little Angels playgroup will meet Wednesday at 10:30 am-12:30 pm beneath the Cathedral. Little Angels will also be meeting throughout the Summer, we hope you will join us!

Goya will meet Tuesday at 6:30 pm beneath the Cathedral.

JOY
The Council Of Eastern Orthodox Churches is holding a Come And See event for all JOY age children (7-11). It will be Saturday, May 30th from 9am-3pm at St. George Cathedral on Anna Street. The theme of the day will be Pentecost. Please contact Fr. Greg with questions. Registration forms are available on the table outside the church.

HOLY TRINITY CORNER
Holy Trinity Hospice "Transitions":
A Grief and Healing Support Group meets every other Wednesday from 6-7:30 pm. Free and open to the public. Light refreshments served. DANCE GROUP
The dance group meets every Thursday at 7:00 pm beneath the Cathedral. High School students and older are invited.

Father Dean and Father Greg will honor you on Father's Day, June 21st following Divine Liturgy. Please call the cathedral office and submit your names.

CULTURAL CENTER HRISOHORAFTION
Our 9th Annual Golf Tournament will take place on Sunday, June 7th at the Heritage Country Club in Charlton, MA. For information call Bill Vasiliadis at 508-735-1253 or Jim Voyiatzis at 774-696-3224.
The application for the Cultural Center Hrisohorafiton Scholarships is now available in the Cathedral Office. Deadline in August 1st. The awards will be given out in September.

ZACHARY W. KASSOS IONIAN VILLAGE MEMORIAL AWARD
In loving memory of our son, Zachary, we have established this $500 annual memorial award to help defray some of the expenses associated with participating in the Ionian Village Summer Camp program. Applications are now available in the Cathedral office. Completed applications are due by Sunday, May 31, 2009. The recipient will be recognized on Sunday, June 21, 2009 Father's Day.
